With more than 35,000 employees across 40 countries, Hydro Extrusion Limited creates aluminium solutions for over 30,000 customers worldwide. Our most recent project for the company included designing, supplying and installing bespoke sign solutions for Hydro’s UK headquarters in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

At a high level, a 2.5m square, the illuminated sign offers the main focus point on the approach to the factory. Hardy Signs manufactured the large aluminium sign tray to house LEDs for the illumination of the company’s logo. The logo itself is in built-up aluminium creating a 3-dimensional profile for which the LED’s offer a ‘halo’ style illumination’. Also, at ground level, on entry to the site, Hardy Signs have provided a tailored solution to illustrate the ‘Lost Time Injury’ information to visitors.

This bespoke solution brings together aluminium fabricated sign panel and full colour printed graphics. The LTI ‘counters’ are examples of LED digital signage which will allow Hydro to display safety information that is subject to daily change.

Finally, a new vinyl graphic has been installed within the main reception to wish visitors a safe onward journey as they leave. The graphic has been shaped to fit the entrance apex and, like all of the signage, is presented in the company’s corporate identity colour palette.
