Hardy Signs have recently installed a set of high-level fascia signs at Nestlé’s manufacturing plant in Tutbury, Staffordshire. The NESCAFÉ branded signs can be seen for miles and compliments the local countryside.
Hardy Signs, one of the most trusted names in the professional signage industry, has been serving Nestlé for a number of years. The company has supported Nestlé by supplying branded visual management, Lean manufacturing shadow boards, digital display solutions, graphics and general site signage.
A total of four large signs each covering over 30 sq. metres were fitted at the newly built coffee manufacturing plant at the Nestlé site.
“This was an exciting challenge because of the height that these signs were being fitted. Specialist equipment with the ability to reach a height of over 40 metres needed to be used” commented Tom Hardy, General Manager Hardy Signs.
The fabricated aluminium sign trays with bespoke built-up powder coated lettering were designed and manufactured at Hardy Signs’ Burton and meet with specific NESCAFÉ Nestle branding. All signs were fitted to an internal steel framework, fastened through the building to internal steels which were accessed by high-level fixed scaffold.
Hardy Signs’ installation team are all specially trained and IPAF certified enabling them to carry out installations at height operating a Genie ‘Super Boom’ to access three of the signs.
The fourth sign offered a bigger challenge for the installation team who worked alongside local company Steve Foster Crane Hire in order to reach over the building’s canopy to access using a 56 metres crane weighing over 30 tonnes.
Ian Scyner of Hardy Signs who managed the health & safety onsite remarked: “Weather is always one of the main concerns when working at height but working with Nestlé’s site team and Steve Fosters Cranes this project was delivered and fitted as per installation schedule agreed.”
