Trent & Dove Housing celebrated their 13th annual Impact on the Community Awards on Friday 2nd November. Hardy Signs were shortlisted (alongside Davies + Scothorn) for the Business of the Year category which recognises a business that has a strong ethical and community focus while constantly striving to bring a positive impact to local communities.

The awards were presented by Kriss Akabusi MBE, Former Olympian & World Champion Gold Medalist with Team GB.

At Hardy Signs Ltd we pride ourselves in reaching out to local charities whilst building strong relationships with local businesses.

Bringing the community together whilst raising awareness has always been an objective during our 25 years in business.

The focus of 2018 has been the company’s 25th anniversary, using the landmark to host local events, elevating other businesses within our borough. Local venues have benefitted from our celebration as well as charities. Hiring a box at Burton Rugby club earlier this year and hosting The Tower Brewery last month were our initial social gatherings.  Using local hospitality and entertainment whilst inviting local businesses built a sense of community and a strong bond between all parties.

We believe it is important to appreciate the hard work of all industries, and aim to promote and support as many as possible.

Our third event of the year was a Golf day hosted at Drayton Park Golf Club on the 21st September. The event brought together business colleagues & friends from more than 20 organisations and raised a total of £1200. Burton YMCA and Burton Addiction Centre received the donations.

As a business we take extra measures to ensure we are contributing to those in need; previously we raised £10,000 donated to NHS Burton Queens Hospital.

The donation allowed the purchase of a ‘Grab bag’- a portable medical resuscitation kit for use on the hospital’s grounds. More recently, we have collected for Burton Mail’s ‘Feed The Families’ campaign for YMCA, which we encouraged local companies to join us in donating food and produce to be donated to families in need at Christmas time. We have come to realise a little help goes a long way, with the status of the company we are able to advertise and attract.

As well as scouting locals we also work in house to enlighten our staff, as two members of our team so far (1 being our M.D.) recently slept rough at the annual YMCA ‘Sleep Out’.

Team Hardy Signs raised over £900 for this campaign.

We strive to preserve strong relationships with our customers and will continue to be mindful, ethical and charitable.
