A project that has been almost six years in the planning has now been unveiled at Staffordshire’s unique canal-side attraction – Barton Marina. Multi-award-winning signage firm, Hardy Signs has completed the manufacture and installation of a new signage scheme at the venue in near Barton under Needwood – the home of The Waterfront Pub and Restaurant.

Barton Marina - Hardy Signs - Post & Panel Signs

From (l-r) Jeff Mason (Architect), Tom Hardy (HS), Cllr Jacqui Jones (East Staffordshire Borough Council), Barry Morgan, Cllr Julia Jessel (East Staffordshire Borough Council)The signage itself boasts many unique characteristics and the architect’s proposals have taken more than six years to achieve successful planning consent from Staffordshire County Council. Jeff Mason of AG Dezign created the concepts and was able develop the specifications and parameters to ensure that consent was ultimately achieved.

The posts and framework that support the signage have been constructed in an environmentally friendly, fully recycled, plastic material – designed to look exactly like a timber finish. The panels themselves consist of fibre glass and use reflective graphics to offer the ultimate visibility for approaching motorists.

Barton Marina has established itself as a popular destination with super shopping facilities and fabulous walks around the marina, lakes and woodlands.

Each element of the signage has been carefully considered in order to comply with strict planning regulations and highways agency standards – the initial footings were even secured by highways approved contractors before the Hardy Signs team carried out the installation at Barton Marina.

Hardy Signs has once again demonstrated a successful business relationship with the Marina and Waterfont management – dating back over a number of years in which the firm has successfully installed signage across the site. The successful delivery of these projects has led to further contracts for many of the retailers and outlets on the Marina which is home to over 300 boats.

“It’s hugely satisfying to see the completion of this project” explained Tom Hardy, Operations Director for Hardy Signs Ltd. “I can recall the initial talks regarding the signage and now six years later we can finally see the results… between ourselves, the marina and the architects we have managed to create an impressive signage scheme to reflect the prestigious nature of Barton Marina”.
